Stone (2010 - DeNiro!?)

Yep…you read that right…Robert DeNiro cranked out a movie last year on the backbone of those Michigan state tax incentives that is such a limp movie-of-the-week that it barely registered a whimper during limited release at the box office. “Stone!?” Sounds like a bad follow up to a Brian Boz flick! Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

Worse? Ed Norton, once his generations most promising actor, is so mis-cast as a corn-row convict that it’s - really - embarrassing. Milla Jovovich has the most fun in a flashy role that shows she’s got some real acting-chops, but…this story needed a real indie-rebel to take a shot at grit-style to capture the big ideas / moral cross-roads / heartland-human-nature-at-its worst themes, but instead it seems handled by the makers of Murder She Wrote.

Where have you gone, Bobby D!?
