Barney’s Version
What a jerk! This movie makes you appreciate how hard it is to make an unlikeable guy, likable! Nobody did it better than Paul Giamatti in “Sideways” but in this adaptation of a Canadian novel…he can’t pull it off. A stellar supporting cast sinks their teeth into this narrative-driven, time-shifting, 70’s melo-drama-feeling story with lots of gusto (Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver, and others) but the performance you’ll remember is turned in by Rosamund Pike!
